Community Guidelines

Effective: April 17, 2026

StillHold is built on a simple idea: your opinions are permanent, but your mind isn't. These guidelines exist to protect that space.

Our Philosophy

We moderate behavior, not beliefs. Controversial, unpopular, and uncomfortable opinions are explicitly welcome on StillHold. The entire point is to put your views on record and revisit them honestly. We will never remove content simply because it's provocative, disagreeable, or politically charged.

What we do not tolerate is content that directly harms individuals or that no reasonable platform should host.

What's Allowed

  • Controversial political opinions
  • Unpopular takes on any topic
  • Criticism of public figures, institutions, or ideas
  • Predictions that turn out to be wrong
  • Edgy humor that doesn't cross into targeted harassment
  • Opinions you're not sure about (that's what the half-baked tag is for)
  • Changing your mind — that's literally the product

What's Not Allowed

  • Targeted harassment: Sustained, directed attacks against specific individuals
  • Threats of violence: Credible threats of physical harm
  • Doxxing: Sharing someone's private information (address, phone, workplace) without consent
  • Hate speech: Slurs and language designed to dehumanize people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability
  • CSAM: Any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Reported to NCMEC and law enforcement.
  • Illegal activity: Instructions for creating weapons, manufacturing drugs, or other immediately dangerous illegal acts
  • Spam: Commercial advertising, bot-generated content, or coordinated inauthentic behavior
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be another person or public figure

Enforcement

Violations are handled through escalating enforcement: warning, 24-hour suspension, 7-day suspension, permanent ban. Severe violations (doxxing, CSAM, credible violence threats) result in immediate permanent ban.

All enforcement actions can be appealed. We commit to reviewing appeals within 72 hours.

Reporting

Every post, reckoning, and profile has a report button. Use it. We review all reports within 24 hours. If you're not sure whether something violates the guidelines, report it anyway — we'd rather review something that turns out to be fine than miss something that isn't.

The Line

The tonal line at StillHold: hard on intellectual dishonesty, soft on intellectual humans. The villain is the memory-holer — the person who pretends they never held the old view. The hero is the person who stands by their takes or admits they were wrong. Our guidelines protect the space where that honesty can happen.
