Appeals

Moderation action appeals process

When You Can Appeal

You can appeal any of the following moderation actions:

  • A post that was filtered or blocked by moderation
  • A reckoning explanation that was filtered
  • An account suspension (24-hour, 7-day, or permanent)

How to Appeal

The fastest way to appeal is through the app. When a post is filtered or your account is suspended, you'll see an "Appeal" option in the notification. Tap it, select a reason, and write a brief explanation (500 characters max).

If you can't access the app (e.g., during a suspension), email support@stillhold.app with:

  • Your StillHold username
  • The email address on your account
  • What action you're appealing
  • Why you believe the action was incorrect

Review Timeline

All appeals are reviewed within 72 hours. Clear cases may be resolved faster by our AI triage system. Ambiguous cases are reviewed by a human moderator.

Possible Outcomes

  • Appeal upheld: The original moderation action stands. You'll receive an explanation of why.
  • Appeal reversed: The moderation action is undone. Your content is restored or your suspension is lifted.

Limits

You may submit up to 3 appeals per day. Users who submit a high volume of frivolous appeals may be temporarily restricted from the appeals process.

What Appeals Are Not

Appeals are for challenging specific moderation actions. They are not a venue for disputing the existence of community guidelines, re-litigating the Terms of Service, or harassment of moderators. Appeals submitted in bad faith may be dismissed without review.
